How real cocoa is made

Cocoa beans are fruits of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), botanically classified as berry-like fruits and they taste like unsweetened dark chocolate. The birth of cocoa powder begins with the grinding of unroasted cocoa beans. The fatty component, known as cocoa butter, is then separated from the mixture. The cocoa mass is then dried and ground into a fine powder. Cocoa powder therefore retains all the substances that are beneficial to the body and soul.

Who is behind it

Ritual Cacao was created in collaboration with Czech mixed martial arts (MMA) champion Jiri "BJP" Procházka. Jiri's passion for functional superfoods, which he uses to support his body and psyche instead of regular sports supplements, and his overlap into spirituality inspired the whole concept of these cocoa blends.

What Ritual Cacao Boost consists of

Raw cocoa powder

Cacao beans in their unroasted (raw) form and products made from them are an excellent way to give your body energy, good mood and a clear mind. Thanks to the active substances they contain, they have a stimulating effect and induce a pleasant state of alertness.

They contain high levels of antioxidants, especially flavonoids, which eliminate the negative effect of free radicals and help protect the heart and blood vessels. Other beneficial substances contained in cocoa beans include magnesium, potassium, iron, copper and phosphorus. This is why they are a great way to get a light kick, stimulate the mind and lift the spirits.

Among the important trace elements contained in this cocoa is copper, which contributes to the proper functioning of the nervous system. It also supports the normal function of the immune system.

Cordyceps/Caterpillar (600 mg per serving)

The cordyceps mushroom occurs naturally in the mountainous regions of China and Tibet. Traditional Chinese medicine has used it for thousands of years, especially to promote strength and endurance.

Cordyceps, like other functional mushrooms, contains several hundred biologically active substances that have a very wide range of beneficial effects on the human body.

It is great for athletes or for a tired person. It is no coincidence that cordyceps was made famous by Sherpas, who carried multi-kilogram loads on their backs to the tops of mountains.

Organic maca

Maca is a powder from the root of a plant remotely similar to our potatoes, native to the Peruvian Andes. It has been used since the time of the Incas for nutritional and medicinal purposes. Traditionally, it was also given to increase libido.

This crop is one of the so-called adaptogens. It is richly endowed with nutrients that promote physical and mental performance and help maintain optimal stamina and vitality.

Organic guarana / Paullinia cupana

This shrubby plant is native to the tropical region of South America. Since time immemorial, ancient peoples have used guarana to increase physical fitness, to sharpen the senses and as an aphrodisiac. It is said that men chewed its seeds during long hunts to strengthen themselves physically and ward off feelings of fatigue and hunger.

Guarana mainly contains various forms of caffeine. We Westerners know guarana in the form of a finely ground powder that helps keep our bodies alert in moments of exhaustion.

Organic turmeric

This spice has been used successfully by Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine for over 4000 years. Since time immemorial, the distinctive yellow powder has been considered one of nature's greatest gifts with a wide range of benefits.

It contains the important flavonoid curcumin. Western science considers this natural colouring agent to have considerable therapeutic potential and many benefits for the human body. Curcumin is mainly studied for its antioxidant effects.

Organic ginger

With its warming effect and slightly spicy taste, ginger perfectly complements the taste of cocoa. Not only that. It also has a positive effect on digestive processes.

Organic cayenne pepper

The cayenne pepper - a spice made from ground chilli peppers - adds even more firepower to the mixture. These can get the blood flowing and the metabolism going.

Recommended dosage

Add 3 levelled teaspoons (14.5 g) to approx. 200 ml of hot water and mix well.
